Does Your Bucket List Contain These Essential Spiritual Goals?
So, we have recently been struck by a need to go through some of the popular bucket list entries and see what we think about them. We believe that these are the entries no bucket list would be complete without.
But, first thing first:
What is a bucket list?
For an off-chance that not everyone knows what a bucket list is, we will put this part in. A bucket list is basically just a list of everything you want to do before you die. Bucket lists are becoming increasingly popular and it is mostly because of the way we live these days. Everything is done in a rush. People are over their heads in responsibilities and nobody ever has the time to fulfill their actual wishes.
How to create a bucket list?
Well, a bucket list is something that should be personalized for everyone. To help you start your own, we will present you with a series of questions that should lead you to realize what must be on your list. Answer these questions instinctively without overthinking and write down the answers:
- What would you do if you found out you were dying and only had days to live?
- On the flip side, what if time was no issue at all?
- What would you do if you had limitless resources?
- What have you wanted to do forever, but never quite got around to it?
- Any places that you want to see in person?
- Are there any achievements you want to reach?
- Did you ever want to master a skill?
- What would you really like to say to the people in your life?
- Who do you want to meet in person?
Just write down the answers to these to get a broad idea as to what your bucket list should have on itself and keep in mind that our list is not a “be all and end all” list. It is just there to remind you of things you might have forgotten to write down as answers to these questions.
But, not to drag on too much, it is about time we presented our own.
Travel around the world
See it for yourself, meet the people from different cultures, get a broader perspective and get to gaze at the most incredible things to be seen in the world. We understand that money may be tight, but if you try to find them, there are always deals and ways for you to travel without spending all that much money at all.
Become multilingual
This is incredibly challenging, but also very rewarding. Having your first conversation in a foreign language can be very exhilarating and you will get a lot of respect for that.
Change your profession
Well, we are not saying that you should drop everything and restart your career, but a change of pace can be nice. Try freelancing or volunteering in a field that you always wanted to try but you feared it would not be profitable enough.
Get in shape
There is nothing wrong with being scrawny or overweight, but you should not limit yourself to your current figure. Try to see if being fit is right for you. A lot of people love the feeling of power they get when strangers stare at them as they are passing by. In the end, if it is not for you, you can always easily gain the pounds back and be capable of saying, with full knowledge, that being fit is not all that it is cracked up to be.
Take up a sport
Learn something new, get a lot of new friends and know that there is a sport for everyone. You could perhaps try archery, bowling, tennis badminton, sailing, soccer, baseball etc. You do not have to become an athlete. Simply broaden your horizons and acquire a new skill.
Ride a horse
Ok, not everyone wants to do this one. However, a lot of people actually do. There is something majestic about horses and downright scary when you realize how powerful they are. It is exhilarating and takes quite a bit of skill to do, but very rewarding. At the very least, you’ll get a great photo on your Instagram profile.
Do something extreme
Try bungee jumping, paragliding, a zip line… If you are too afraid of those, at least go for a really big water slide before you are too old to even attempt it.
Now, these are just some of the things you should consider having on your list. There is a lot more to be said and done before it is your time to go. In the end, you should really live before dying. Do you agree?
